If you are not entering a Custom SELECT statement, and you wish to supply an SQL LIKE clause in order to filter your query, select the name of the column on which you would like to filter.

uri/../images/bluepin.gif   Like

If you are not entering a Custom SELECT statement, enter the text to be used in the SQL LIKE clause. For example, if you selected tblLR as the Table Name, and Location as the Column Name, you might enter *Cuyahoga* here in order to find all locations that contain the substring "Cuyahoga".

uri/../images/bluepin.gif   Generate CSV

Press this button to create a text file in CSV (comma separated value) format, including a header record, from the result set. You can save this file with a .csv extension and open it in any spreadsheet program to see and manipulate the results.

uri/../images/bluepin.gif   Enter Custom SELECT

Use this box to enter a custom SQL SELECT statement. Entering something here will cause _LTools_ to ignore the Table Name, Column Name, and Like fields.

Click here for help writing SQL query and update statements.

NOTE: Right-clicking on this field brings up a context menu containing some "canned" SQL SELECT queries. If you wish to add your own you may do so by editing the MySelectQueries.csv file in your _LTools_ Application Data folder (In WinXP that is C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Zipper Software\LTools\ ). Queries may contain parameters ({parameter-name}). When _LTools_ encounters a parameter it will prompt the user to enter some text. The text entered will replace {parameter-name} in the resulting query.

Once loaded, the window's title will display the name of the loaded query.

Any updates you make to MySelectQueries.csv will not get overlaid when you install a new version of _LTools_.
